Transformation Tuesday: Crocodile Dundee

Happy Tuesday!

This week I have chosen to “transform” into Crocodile Dundee.  Why?  Well, I am sorry to report that I do not have an affinity for crocs OR for the Crocodile Dundee movie series.  However,  I do love this shirt and was trying to think of creative ways to wear it.  ENTER 80’s inspo!

For those of you not familiar with the movie series, Crocodile Dundee is about a wild Australian man who is introduced to New York by a hot reporter who is quite taken with him.  Admittedly, I barely remember this movie and don’t recall watching the sequels but apparently Mike Dundee left an impression on me because I remember him and he his this week’s fashion inspo.

In my version of the story, we will just say I am a wild flower that was plucked from Washington D.C. to live in the mountains of Colorado by her hot boyfriend 🙂

Putting this outfit together was pretty fun, not gonna lie.  The only thing missing was a tooth choker, but I mean…..I just couldn’t go there this week.  Ha!  Instead I wore my wooden moon earrings because they look similar to teeth.

Transformation Tuesday: Pocahontas

Happy Tuesday Hon!

I am super excited to introduce a new category to the blog.  Every Tuesday I plan to share my personal spin on a pre-existing outfit from either a celebrity, character, or public figure.

This week I chose one of my favorite Disney Princesses,POCAHONTAS!

Not only does Poca paint with all the colors of the wind, but she can talk to animals, trees, and is GREAT at combating some mansplaining! She is SUCH a bad-ass girl boss.  Oh, and HELLO–She is super freakin’ fashionable.  That shiny hair, turquoise necklace, and sick tat ad to her appeal.  She is def workin’ that minimalist style (although what Disney Princess isnt?)

Luckily this was a pretty easy transformation because I already wear these items.  I think I successfully incorporated her style into mine by creating a modern day boho-casual Pocarissa.  HA!  The drawing below REALLY convinced me to do this transformation.  Is it not gorgeous?  I love seeing a curly Poca.

Color me inspired….

Apple-shaped Gals: How dare I show off my belly right?!  I love the fringe on this top because it shows off the tummy without feeling completely bare. Notice that my pants are pulled up mid-waist.  It really is the trick to making this outfit work.  A low-rise pant would be just DISASTROUS.  I also tried on a light-wash distressed jean and it was awful.  The length of the top exposed too much of the jean and accentuated my stomach.  A darker, looser pant really helped pulled this outfit together 🙂
