Every once in a while I come across an article of clothing that REALLY speaks to me. This tunic is one of them. It is very different from anything else I own, yet looks very ME. In my opinion it is reminiscent of the earthy, girly, boho style of something sold at Anthro, Free People, or your fav boho boutique. Yet, instead of paying those prices I got this bad boy on DEEP sale for $9.99 at Maurices. It is safe to say that it is one of my favorite new tops and I can’t wait to show you the many different ways I style it this coming Spring. Currently, I styled it with these pair of brown suede OTK boots and some fun crystal jewelry. They are ALSO on deep sale! This look whole look currently costs under $50. Serious steal.

Today’s order of business: I’m diggin’ Denver snow! When Josh and I first moved here I was excited at the thought of snow, but when it happened for the first time I was TERRIFIED to drive my new car. All I could think was F*!$ snow! How many more months of this? I’m TOTALLY gonna get into an accident. I REALLY don’t want to drive in this everyday. Then the next time it snowed, I drove a little better and was in general more prepared.
This LAST snow I actually kind of dug it! It was super thick and icy in the AM but at the end of my work day it had just melted and disappeared. THAT’S MY KINDA SNOW.
And so, here I am with my new found love for Denver snow and a new favorite snow day outfit. I LOVE winter white so took advantage of wearing it.

Apple Tip: First, don’t be afraid to wear white! It really won’t make you look heavier when you wear it the right way. Also, don’t be afraid to add bulk! I know the thought of adding a puffy vest to your mid section sounds like blasphemy, but if you get the right cut and size you will just look like a a cute snow bunny! I added this surplice sweater underneath to create some dimension and to have something looser under the vest that didn’t cling to my tummy, but still looked put together. I would typically not suggest wearing all lighter colors together but luckily in winter layering can be (and always is IMO) a great tool to use for apple-shaped gals.

How was your first week in the New Year? Feeling good about 2017? I’ve had my doubts throughout the week, but then “the universe” presented some things that show signs of a promising year.
It’s taken me a week to really settle in and marry my resolutions, but I feel very comfortable with them and am ready to share! Be prepared, as this post is heavy on words and trim and photos (Who am I?!) However, I love being able to get a bit more personal with you and share the things I would like to work on in life. I hope you find my resolutions relatable and inspiring…
My New Years Resolutions
Note: Blogged while listening to 90’s Hip Hop (highly recommended)
- Be more present/ Listen more
This past year was struggle city for me. Nothing horrible happened, but I was in my head a lot. There were always so many thoughts running through my mind. Dreams of the future, stresses of the present, moving, trying to keep up with myself…I consider myself a very self-aware person, but as I look back on 2016 I realize when it came to spending time with the ones I care about I was always in La-La Land. I was physically present, but not always 100% all there. I was always straddling the line between present with others and my own personal thoughts. No wonder I always feel like life is a blur!
I could easily give the excuse that there was just a lot going on, but everyone has a lot going on. Point blank.
This year I would like to practice the art of listening. I have always had word vomit and always have something to share and gab about. But this year, I’d simply like to listen.
2. Network/Build new relationships/Establish deeper connections/Nurture current relationships
This resolution follows suit with the former. Being in a new city, I need to take the steps to branch out and network with others in my area. Josh and I have friends, but haven’t stepped out of our comfort zone to develop and build newer relationships. I am guilty of sulking and quite frankly BITCHING about how I miss my deep connections in D.C. yet
Happy New Year Loves!!
I hope that everyone had a fun and safe New Years Eve. I went out to a DELICIOUS dinner with Josh and then we met up with some friends to ring in the New Year. Nothing too crazy and wild.
New Years day was pretty freakin’ sweet. We had brunch at The Hound (SO GOOD!!) and then got ice cream at Bonnie Brae. We then finished off the day relaxing with moscow mules and champagne.
This sweatshirt is on SALE right now HERE!
And of course, the day would not have been complete without fulfilling my family tradition….. Continue reading
