Hi BOO!(Hehe),
I am SO so excited to feature a Halloween Post!
Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays and I typically try to go all out for my costume. However, this year I have succumbed to the fact that I don’t have the time, energy, or funds to have a DIY intensive costume. And so, I took a peek into my closet to see if there was anything I already owned that I could turn into a semi-clever costume…
Ta-da! I came up with not one, but FIVE costume ideas and literally spent ZERO dollar bills. WINNING.
I decided to share these outfits with you to inspire you to maximize your own closet and get creative with your last minute costume ideas. All of these costumes can obviously be modified and tailored to your own personal style–as with all of my outfit posts. I hope these help/inspire you with your last-minute costume this year!
Costume #1: Queen of the Dead
Materials:
- Flower Crown, Floral Headband, or Fresh Picked Flowers
- Old formal dress
- Lipstick
- Eyeliner
This costume was super easy to put together. I had an old flower crown from a festival and a vintage dress I thrifted years ago that I never got a chance to wear. I literally used lipstick and eyeliner as my face makeup. This costume obviously did take SOME effort. But it was simply Googling “Day of the Dead Makeup” and then trying my best to imitate.
Costume #2: Hipster Disney Princess (Pocahontas)
Materials:
- Brown/Cognac Top
- Turquiose/Teal Necklace
- Jeggings
- Boots
- Black Rimmed Glasses
- Fedora
- Sign with a pretentious saying
This costume is super fun and clever. I did the costume years ago with a group of friends and we all went as hipster Disney Princesses. This is a slightly better version in my opinion and I put in way less effort. I own all of these items and have never worn them together, but if we’re being honest….I would probably actually wear this outfit HAHA. Whichever princess you decide to go as….Black rimmed glasses are a MUST! If you need inspiration for your fav Disney Princess just Google “Hipster Disney Princess Costume”….you will LOVE.
Costume #3: Lady Leopard
Materials:
- Sweater
- Leopard Print Fur Vest
- Jeggings
- Boots
- Eye liner
Talk about easy. This is an outfit I already wear together! So basically I just tied some of my hair in two buns as “cat ears” and then used eyeliner to draw some whiskers and spots. It doesn’t get more simple than that. RAWR!
Costume #4: Bougie Kitty
Material:s
- Black Dress
- Black Fur Vest
- Choker
- Sparkly Bracelets
I love this Bougie Kitty costume! It was easy to put together and I feel cute, sassy, and classy. I really think any dress and fur vest will do for this costume but I happen to love this “black cat” look. The key players here are the fur vest, choker, and bling bling bracelets. The fur vest adds a bit of “luxury”, the choker looks like a cat collar, and the bracelets add to the “wealthy” look. ME-OW.
Costume #5: Teenage Witch
Materials:
- Black Top
- Black Tulle Skirt
- Black Boots
- Black Choker
- Something with a black cat on it
- Headphones
- Cellphone
- Space Buns
This may be the easiest Halloween costume EVER. Basically just wear all black and take a bunch of selfies all night. As if you weren’t already gonna do that anyway HA! The choker is so on trend right now and I’ve seen so many teens rockin’ em. The headphones are because teens LOVE their music. The space buns are just a popular hair style I’ve seen the youngin’s wearing and of course you need a cell phone to take selfies. If you want to take it a step further, get a selfie stick!!
I hope these ideas have been helpful! for you. Even if you don’t end up going as any of these, I hope they have inspired you to get creative with you current wardrobe. Have a lovely and SAFE Halloween!
